Groom's Corner

Facials, manicures, pedicures and massages. This sounds like a perfect beginning to a great day at the spa for your fiancée, but what about you?

You’re a guy. So what? A grandiose rental tux isn’t the key to looking your best, though it does help. You are as big and important as your beautiful bride; therefore you should look the part as well. The pictures that you show your children and grandchildren will be a constant reminder for years to come.

Here are a few DOs and DON’Ts we recommend for you to look your best:

A Great Hair Day

DO get your hair cut at least one week before the wedding. By the time the big day arrives, the cut should grow out and look natural. Avoid going the day before the wedding; you may regret the outcome with no way out. Remember the times your mother cut your hair before school pictures? Sure you do…

DO use a product that offers fullness or volume to your hair. Such products can be found at your salon or the local drug store.

DO ask your stylist to show you how to use products that work well with you hair type and length and make sure to use them correctly. No man should be without appropriate hair products.

DON’T use a product such as a heavy gel that will give you crunchy helmet head. You want a soft hold that will look natural. Gel will give a shiny, greasy look in pictures and not be too pleasant for your bride after all the festivities are over.

Baby Face

DON’T give yourself a close shave until the morning of the wedding. Try to leave some growth for about a week before so that your skin can heal from any rash, redness or dryness. If you have dry skin, use an After-Shaving Balm. This product will be thicker than a normal tonic or lotion and will ensure softer skin.

Pretty Hands and Pretty Feet

YES, you too can endure a manicure and pedicure. Not a thing to worry about. Your face will not appear on the cover of Manly Magazine, caught in the act of a “girly” manicure. Manicures are relaxing and uncover the soft hands that we all long for. You need preparation for the new ring that she will place on your finger. Surprise her with soft manicured nails and hands.

Planning a honeymoon? Get those toes ready for the beach, or just do it for the relaxation. Your feet are the road to your soul and offer many stress relief points.

Keep Your figure

AVOID alcohol or heavy meals before your wedding day. You don’t want any unforeseen bloating. Plan on a healthier eating schedule months in advance and try a new exercise routine to help shed some unwanted pounds.
