8 Rules to Indelible Kissable Lips
Text by Aimee Saling
Bride & Groom KissOn your wedding day, you will become a kissing magnet. From your groom, to your parents and in-laws, to friends, and back to your groom, you will be kissing all night long. Here are eight rules to make sure your lips stay true to form and true to color.

1. Prepare the lips!
First apply Vaseline to problem lip area and lightly exfoliate with a toothbrush. We recommend a children’s soft bristle brush. This will remove any excess dry skin for perfectly smooth lips.

2. Prime it!
Just as you would prime a wall in your home, prime those lips. This removes any lip discoloring and creates a smooth canvas-like texture. If you can’t find lip primer, a light coat of foundation will work just as well.

3. Line ‘em up!
Find a lip liner that either matches your lipstick color perfectly or one that matches the natural shade of your lip. This will ensure that you will not end up with ring around the lip later on in the evening. Follow your natural line carefully and once finished, fill in completely. Do not use lip liners to make or create a bigger fuller lip; this will only give you a clown-like effect.

4. Brush it on!
Lipstick always goes on more smoothly with a great lip brush. If you are uncomfortable with this application, then do as you are accustomed. Apply a layer of lipstick making sure that you get into the innermost corner of your mouth.

5. Blot and set!
Once you have applied your first layer of lipstick, blot with a tissue and use a loose powder brush and set with a thin dusting of powder.

6. Repeat, repeat!
Do as you already did in steps 4 and 5. This will give you layers of lipstick to kiss through.

7. Seal it!
Lipstick sealer can be purchased at your local retail counter at the mall or sometimes at your favorite drug store. Seal those lips up and be sure not to forget this when packing your make-up kit. It will come in handy on your honeymoon as well.

8. Gloss it up!
Add a little lip gloss if you like the shine. However, if this is your wedding day, try to steer clear of shimmer or crystalline glosses. They tend to give you a very unnatural shine in photos.
