There are many new and interesting ways to
make your wedding very special and memorable. We shopped some of
Louisville's best wedding providers to give you the latest and greatest.
Getting married on the beach?
Heels in the sand aren’t the best idea. Get a pedicure and
decorate your tootsies with gorgeous crystal, rhinestone, or pearl
"foot jewelry”. Created in sterling silver, one size
fits most. Priced at $125 per pair, Sher's.
Everyone has a wedding cake, and some are decorated with the traditional
Bride and Groom figurines. Louisville-based Welded Bliss designs
and creates contemporary toppers that last a lifetime. These stainless
steel sculptures are hand made to order and depict the Bride and
Groom dancing or embracing in a whimsical, loving manner. The topper
then becomes a votive candleholder or bud vase to decorate your
mantle or dining room table. These toppers and distinctive cake
pedestals are all created from food grade stainless steel, and each
is one of a kind. Toppers, $295; cake pedestals, $850-$950, Welded
Bliss.
Another unique idea comes from Country Squire Florist, exclusively
in Louisville.
"Elegant Aisles," by Elizabeth Farley, are hand screened
aisle runners created in florals or monogrammed with the couple's
initials. The floral designs can be created to match the flowers
in the wedding, adding an additional bit of elegance and individuality
to the ceremony. Priced from $250 to $1,000 for 50 to 150 feet in
length, Country Squire Florist, Inc. (Wedding shoes by Ferraroli
for Regalia, Sher's.)
Grooms
will make a big hit by giving their groomsmen a pair of monogrammed
boxer shorts! Sam Meyer offers not only boxers, but monogrammed
belts, engraved key chains, and other specialty items to commemorate
the ceremony. Priced around $50, Sam Meyer.
Brides, take note! This idea will ensure that your wedding pictures
will look great, even if your
grooms-men usually wear their pants way low. Colonel Q suggests
suspenders to go with tuxedos, in classic white or black. Your wedding
party will look neat and well dressed. New on the market is the
self-tie bow ties, which fortunately, come with instructions. Suspenders,
$12.95 and up; self-tie bow ties, $15.95 and up, Colonel Q.
