File FolderCREATIVE WAYS TO ORGANIZE

File it
Fill an accordion file with receipts, contracts, bills, and other important papers; keep a second one for ideas, pictures, etc.
File boxes and accordion files come in all sorts of designs and price ranges. Find one that appeals to you and even one that matches your wedding colors.
Have a file for each bridesmaid and keep gift ideas, job descriptions, etc. under each girl’s name.

Keep it in plain sight…
Binders make a great storage system for brides who have to see it to remember it. Fill a pretty binder with page protectors and lined paper, along with page dividers for different subjects.
Keep fabric swatches, photos, business cards, and other odd-Scapbookshaped items in special page protectors made for business cards, photos, and trading cards. A varied selection of page protectors can be found at discount stores and office supply stores.
Have wall space? Put up a bulletin board or large sheet of thin metal and hang items on the board with pushpins or magnets. Section the board off into different subjects or just use as a collage of sorts for inspiration. Decorate a wall or desk area with wedding-themed items, such as fabric swatches or dress pictures in small photo frames.

Quill PensDocument it…
Keep a journal for important events like dress fittings, flower selections, bridal showers, etc. Writing down your feelings right away will ensure that you will remember the day more vividly later on.

Consider purchasing a second daily planner for the past, not the future. Keep a planner specifically to document what you did each day; more importantly than creating something fun to read years later, you will be able to accurately recall when contracts were signed, what items or services vendors promised you by certain dates, what exactly was included in the packages you purchased, and other oft forgotten details.

Purchase a small scrapbook and make it your journal; add photos of the daily events andPens even have your bridesmaids and others close to you sign the scrapbook. It’s an easy way to combine the practicality of documentation with the creativity of making a cherished album full of memories.

Make it your own…
If you can’t find just the right file folder or planner, make your own; whether you start from scratch and create the whole item or simply decorate a premade one, you can personalize your organizing system to match your personality, your wedding, or any other theme of your choosing. Cover books and files with fabric from your wedding attire, decorative paper that expresses your personality, and embellishments like decorative brads, book plates, beads, and other artistic items.
Designate a special pen just for your wedding planning; try a romantic fountain pen or glass nib pen, available from fine stationers; create a whimsical pen by taping a silk flower to an otherwise ordinary pen and binding the two together with a fancy ribbon. Have pens or pencils personalized with your new married Pensname, the wedding date, or other significant wording.

Set aside a certain place in your home just for wedding plans. Set up a card table, an old vintage desk, even a TV tray or end table, and make it fancy with a pretty tablecloth and a vase of flowers. Make it a point to sit at the desk for all of your daily planning, creating a peaceful spot devoted only to preparation for your nuptials.
